Phitchayaporn Artsunthorn (พิซญาพร อาจสุนทร) has spent over 20 years perfecting the art of authentic Thai cuisine in Bahrain. A dedicated entrepreneur, she opened her first restaurant, Arroy Dee, in 2002, fulfilling her dream of bringing traditional Thai food to the region.
For two decades, Arroy Dee became a well-loved name among food lovers in Bahrain, known for its flavorful dishes and warm hospitality. In 2017, she expanded her vision by launching Thai Smile in Riffa, continuing her commitment to high-quality Thai cuisine.
Like many entrepreneurs, she faced challenges, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, which deeply impacted the restaurant industry. Despite setbacks, she remained determined to bring authentic Thai flavors to Bahrain, leading to the launch of Fried Thai Spice in Juffair.
Her vision was clear: to simplify the menu, focus on traditional recipes, and maintain high-quality cooking. With her deep knowledge of Thai cuisine, she curated a selection of best-selling dishes, including Som Tum (Papaya Salad) and Khao Kha Moo (Braised Pork Leg), making Fried Thai Spice a favorite among food lovers.
Through her expertise and tenacity, she has built a restaurant that not only serves authentic Thai dishes but also creates a memorable dining experience for every guest.
At Fried Thai Spice, we believe that a great restaurant is built on the dedication and expertise of its team. Among our talented professionals is Riza, a highly skilled and experienced culinary expert with over 13 years in the kitchen. While she does not specialize in Thai cuisine, her background in pastry, catering, and kitchen management makes her an invaluable part of our restaurant’s success.
Riza’s career in the food industry started in an unexpected place—as a Store Keeper in a palace. With no formal background in cooking, she never imagined herself in the kitchen until one day, her first boss tasted one of her dishes and was amazed by the preparation and flavors. That moment changed her career path, and she was invited to join the main kitchen.
From there, she worked her way up the ranks, starting as a prep cook. She spent long hours chopping vegetables, cleaning produce, and preparing meals for the Filipino staff. Over time, her superiors noticed her talent, and she was given an opportunity to assist in the pastry kitchen, where she discovered her passion for baking and desserts.
Through hard work, determination, and an eagerness to learn, Riza continued to expand her skills, eventually stepping into leadership roles, where she now oversees staff management, financial planning, and kitchen operations.
The world of food is constantly evolving, and Chef Riza never stops learning. She embraces modern techniques while keeping traditional flavors alive, ensuring that every plate she serves is fresh, flavorful, and memorable.
For Riza, cooking is not just a job—it’s a lifetime passion. While she once dreamed of opening her own restaurant, she has found fulfillment in helping others bring their culinary visions to life. Now, as part of Fried Thai Spice, she continues to elevate Thai cuisine in Bahrain, working with a talented team to serve food that brings people together.
